Mandy Savitz-Romer
About Me
I am focused on bridging the worlds of research and practice to prepare educators to promote positive academic, social emotional, and postsecondary development for adolescents and young adults.

My professional goals are focused on two, interrelated topics: school counseling, and postsecondary access and readiness. Across these topics I highlight the systemic inefficiencies
and professional limitations that maintain educational inequality and offer field-based strategies to overcome them. I have narrowed in on how K-12 and higher education systems establish systems of support. That is, I examine how schools, districts, colleges and universities and state policy understand and address the unequal access to counseling and student supports.

In addition to my university commitments, teaching and mentoring, research, and field engagement, I offer college planning services to a small number of students, which helps keep me connected to the field.
