This book illuminates the critical role all actors the school counseling ecosystem play in creating access to high quality counseling support. That is, it provides a blueprint for how teachers, school and district leaders, policymakers and philanthropists contribute to a stronger, more efficient counseling system that benefits all students. By introducing the concept of an academic home, modeled after the medical home model, I situate school counseling as central to students’ schooling experience and essential to connecting students and families to specialized supports.
